Swedish custom truck design house, Svempa, has done it again – this time turning its attention to a Scania P 400 tipper.
The eye-catching 6x6 was transformed by none other than Sven-Erik 'Svempa' Bergendahl (pictured, right) and his head designer Jan Richter (pictured, left), and is the latest in a long line of stunning Scania customs turned out by the talented Svempa team.
Dubbed the Black Claw, the truck features a head-turning exterior design plus an interior with custom upholstery and door panels.
It's also been built to withstand some incredibly harsh conditions, as it will now serve in the Siberian mining industry.
With a 14-cubic-metre tipper body, the truck is shod with oversize 16.00R20 tyres to help it traverse the permafrost – and the thick, viscous mud that results during the brief window in which the permafrost thaws in summer.
The body can be extended by two cubic metres if necessary and is equipped with exhaust gas heating and hydraulic vibration to prevent the load from freezing and sticking to the tipper's body.
The Black Claw weighs in at 16.7 tonnes, and has a loading capacity of 18.3 tonnes.
