Therma Truck has welcomed a new model to its Cool Cube line-up of refrigerated ready-to-go truck bodies, with the CY33W3 wide body now complementing the existing 3.3-metre-long CY33N3 narrow-body model, among the many other Cool Cube options.
Constructed of fibreglass and polyurethane foam panels, the new model measures 2500mm wide – 200mm wider than the narrower model. That gives it a capacity of four pallets instead of the narrower model's two, while still having space to store a pallet jack.
With an internal height of 2050mm, the CY33W3 boasts an internal capacity of 14.2 cubic metres – up from 13.8 cubic metres for the narrower model – with internal measurements of 2.39 metres wide by 3.12 metres long.
Therma Truck says it's suitable for work down to minus 20 degrees C.
The durable floor is constructed from high-grade extruded T6061 aluminium, providing an exceptionally tough platform that takes the all the usual freight punishment in its stride.
It comes with galvanised side and rear steps, mudguards and LED clearance lights, with access via the left side and centre rear doors.
Thermal breaks are provided on the doors for superior insulation and the body comes with quality stainless steel hardware, while internal lighting and a rear grab handle are also provided.
For added peace of mind, the CY33W3 comes with a two-year warranty.
Therma Truck has been importing Cool Cube insulated truck bodies from China for over 10 years, the line-up giving customers a value-packed, ready-to-go range spanning lengths from 2.4 metres to 8.0 metres.
The range is built to the exacting designs of James Betzis, the Managing Director and owner of Therma Truck, who has over 20 years of experience in refrigerated transport.
The tough T6061 aluminium flooring, meanwhile, is produced by Therma Truck's sister company, also located in China.
Therma Truck's Sales Manager, Gordon Tsang, says the new CY33W3 addresses a growing customer demand.
"We added the CY33W3 to the range in response to the many customer requests we'd had for a four-pallet body in this 3.3-metre length," he says.
Mr Tsang says the fast turnaround times are another major drawcard for the Cool Cube range.
"These Cool Cube bodies are assembled here in our factory and we have them ready to go – the customer places the order and we can have a body fitted to their chassis in approximately two weeks," he says.
The offering has struck a chord in Australia; Therma Truck says it's sold over 1500 Cool Cube bodies here over the past decade.
The Cool Cube range complements Therma Truck's premium Custom range of bodies and Italian-made Framec eutectic bodies.
The Custom range gives customers a fully bespoke product precisely tailored to their application, while the Framec eutectic bodies are ideal for the transport of ice cream. The company also offers a comprehensive body repair service for all makes and models of insulated truck bodies.
Therma Truck says its list of high-profile customers bears testament to the quality of its products, with major companies such as PFD, Woolworths, Steggles, Cadbury, Streets and Nestle all utilising its insulated bodies.
Mr Tsang says Therma Truck's professional approach has seen it steadily grow since its birth in 1970.
"We make sure everything is right when we deliver and we never walk away from a problem – we don't just deliver a truck body to the customer, we provide a complete solution to meet their needs," he says.
Today a staff of over 50 is based at Therma Truck's office and production facility in Smithfield, Sydney. Spread over an 8900 square metre site, the company uses the latest Computer Aided Design software and tooling to design and manufacture its products.
