'Thumbs up' for viral Volvo ad

Just six days after it was launched, Volvo Truck's latest YouTube commercial has already clocked up nearly 1.9 million views
Volvo Trucks has unveiled a new viral media campaign, with its latest ad uploaded to YouTube on Wednesday, September 24.
Not even a week later the clip has racked up nearly 1.9 million views, proving once again the worth of a well-executed social media push.
The latest ad features Volvo's flagship model, an FH16 with Globetrotter cab and new I-Shift Dual Clutch, rolling up in one of the most unlikely of places – the front steps of Monaco's Monte Carlo Casino.
Amid the procession of supercars, supermodels and the super-rich, the prime mover presents an unexpected problem for the casino's new valet – an unsuspecting lad caught by concealed cameras as he tackles his first night on the job at the iconic gambling venue.
We'll leave it to the ad itself for Volvo to make its point, but it's another slick effort from the company whose 'Epic Split' campaign, featuring Jean-Claude Van Damme, stunned the online world. That clip, which highlighted the precision of Volvo Dynamic Steering, has amassed over 75 million views since it was uploaded in November 2013.
While 'The Casino' arguably has a little less 'wow factor', with 1,886,548 views (as of September 30, 2014) in six days it's fair to say it's off to a solid start!
Check out the clip for yourself and see what you think…
