Tieman tankers to continue

The Tieman family has confirmed its tanker business will remain under its control, after securing it from voluntary administrators

Just weeks after Melbourne-based Tieman Industries had appointed voluntary administrators, the family behind the 62-year-old business has announced that it will retain ownership of its core tanker business.

Brothers Colin and Dale Tieman have succeeded in purchasing the tanker business and will now continue its operations as separate entity, while restructuring specialist KordaMentha pushes on with the sale of two other Tieman Industries divisions – a tail lift production arm and a repair and service arm.

Last week it was announced that the service arm and a 60-strong fleet of service vehicles would be purchased by refuse and recycling equipment specialist Wastech Engineering, with the name Tieman National Service to be changed to Wastech Field Service.

The Tieman family recently released a statement regarding the continuation of Tieman's tanker business, as follows…

The Tieman family is pleased to announce that it has succeeded in purchasing its 62-year-old tanker business from the appointed voluntary administrators, saving approximately 90 jobs at its Campbellfield site in Melbourne.
