Toll opens Fremantle facility

Toll Group has cut the ribbon on a new $20 million intermodal freight hub at the Port of Fremantle in WA

Toll Group has boosted its freight network in the west with the opening of a new intermodal freight facility at the Port of Fremantle.

The new hub sits on a 4.3-hectare site within the port's Rous Head Industrial Park, and comprises a 6000 square metre warehouse and cross dock, a 2500 TEU capacity container park, quarantine and fumigation services, and the port's only public weighbridge.

Toll Group Managing Director, Brian Kruger, was joined by City of Fremantle Mayor Brad Pettitt to open the facility, which has been developed by Toll in conjunction with Fremantle Ports Authority.

Mr Kruger said the new facility would be of significant benefit to its WA customers.

"We can now provide an improved service to our customers in Western Australia and beyond by connecting this new facility with our unmatched national freight network, warehousing, ports and railways, as well as our international freight forwarding services," he said.

"I am excited to open this newest addition to Toll's network and look forward to continuing to deliver first-class services from this first-class facility."

Toll's investment is part of more than $80 million that has been spent on recent major property investments and upgrades in Western Australia, where the logistics giant employs over 3000 people across 50 sites.
