The 2025 Brisbane Truck Show blitzed previous attendance records, with well over 50,000 people visiting to see the biggest display of trucks, trailers and accessories in the Southern Hemisphere.
While so many come to see the trucks, just as many visitors attend to check out the latest and greatest trailers, from next-generation fridge units to heavy-haulage low-loaders and, of course, the latest performance-based standards (PBS) combinations.
This year the array of trailers on show set a new standard, with more than 30 of the world’s leading manufacturers – many of them locally based innovators – rolling out their newest creations.
Australia is known for building some of the toughest trailers in the world, as well as pulling the biggest combinations ever to hit the bitumen, and it’s clear that there’s no slowing down for the booming trailer industry.
Here are our top trailers from the 2025 Brisbane Truck Show…
The Drake Group is an absolute powerhouse of Australian trailer manufacturing, known globally for turning out some of the toughest trailers in the game, and its stand at this year’s show went sky high – literally!
Drake Group is known for its crazy Brisbane Truck Show ideas, like hanging a low-loader from the roof or stacking trailers upon trailers, but this year it set up a sky-high rotating skel arrangement that stole the show.
From the moment punters entered the main pavilion, Drake’s incredible rotating skel was visible and it drew enormous attention. What better talking point than a sky-high skel, right?
“We were sitting around brainstorming about what we should do for the show … the idea came up and we just thought, ‘Why not, let’s do it!’” said Drake Trailers Director, Sam Drake.
Alongside the incredible skel, the Group had a Queenslander Flat Top on display, which is a rebirth of the iconic model that Mick O’Phee, founder of O’Phee Trailers, created many years ago. The new trailer belongs to Heavy Haulage Assets, which plans to put it to use carting containers, pipes and everything in between.
There was also a blinged-out Membrey’s 5x8 swing wide extendable trailer, showcasing a proven high-end Drake Trailers solution for the heavy-haulage industry. On the side of the trailer it was suitably signwritten with the name, ‘Bling King’, with gold-plated Drake badging and gold fleck throughout the painted deck.
The Group is made up of Drake Trailers, O’Phee Trailers, Danzell & Bagley and Boxloader, and it offers an impressive lineup of options for just about every occasion. From heavy-haulage low-loaders, to skels and flat tops, the Drake Group does it all.
Haulmark Trailers returned to the Brisbane Truck Show in 2025, last exhibiting all the way back in 1999, to showcase what the future holds for the iconic brand.
There’s a bit of an interesting history behind Haulmark’s involvement in the show, too. Back in 1968, Haulmark actually hosted the first-ever truck show at its Rocklea (Qld) site, bringing 20 exhibitors together and kicking off what would become the biggest truck and trailer show in the Southern Hemisphere.
“Back in 1999 we got to the point where we had other priorities. We have a very loyal client base and you can only do as much as capacity allows,” said Haulmark National Sales and Marketing Manager, Mark Johnston.
“But you evolve as you go and we have now got one to two new products that we want to get out there, and the Brisbane Truck Show is the best way to spread the news and connect with potential customers.”
Haulmark left a mark on the industry at this year’s show, reconnecting and showing off its exciting new product lineup to the hordes of trailer fans.
The main attraction at the Haulmark stand was its new live-bottom-floor trailer, developed with Canadian company Gincor, featuring a durable two-ply heat- and oil-resistant conveyor belt that makes unloading a breeze.
Haulmark’s latest creation uses a mix of Hardox 45 wear-resistant steel plate and premium fibre-strand insulated walls, making it suitable for asphalt and hot mix as well as other bulk products.
The company recently celebrated its 60th anniversary and based on its incredible display at the show, it is only getting started!
Brisbane-based trailer builder Robuk Engineering knows how to steal the show, rolling out its premium aluminium end tippers, side tippers and moving-floor trailers for a growing audience of fans.
At last year’s show, the company displayed its PBS-approved A-double ‘Melbourne Storm’ trailer set, owned and operated by S&J McMahon Transport, featuring an incredible airbrushed livery.
While the epic NRL-themed A-double made a return at the 2025 Brisbane Truck Show, it sat alongside an even bigger spectacle: the company’s brand-new 26-metre PBS-approved A-double combination, hitched up behind a beautiful Kenworth K220.
Particularly special was the heartwarming Lights on the Hill livery adorning the new A-double set, honouring the legacy of fallen drivers from across the transport industry.
Freighter Group (formerly MaxiTRANS) landed with a bang at this year’s Brisbane Truck Show, premiering its new brand name and a look to the future with its innovative trailer offerings.
The Group unveiled its new range of locally manufactured trailers at this year’s show, under its new ‘Freight it for Life’ ethos, which included the hotly anticipated Freez-R fridge trailer that it claims offers industry-leading thermal performance.
Freighter Group Executive Chairman Greg L’Estrange emphasised that the brand’s name change and renewed focus reflects both its origins and future vision.
“As the pre-eminent trailer brand in Australia, Freighter has a rich history with origins extending back to 1946 and has continued to build a strong reputation within the industry since its introduction,” he said.
“The Freighter Group name not only connects our rich heritage but, importantly, it connects with our vision of ‘Freight it for Life’, which is our total commitment to supporting our customers for the life of our product.”
Half a century after Hammar unveiled its first ‘Hammarlift’ side-loader in Sweden, the brand has used the Brisbane Truck Show to show off its all-new model – the Hammar 500.
The new Hammar 500, which represents an evolution of the brand’s tried-and-tested lift systems, offers a 45-tonne lifting capacity, allowing it to stack containers weighing up to 17.1-tonnes and stack them two rows deep thanks to its six-metre reach.
Hammar’s latest model promises to push the boundaries of what’s possible for side-loaders, taking the company into the future as a global leader in the container trailer space.
“Hammar’s 50th anniversary is just the beginning of a new chapter in the company’s history,” said Hammar CEO and founder, Bengt-Olof Hammar. “We very much look forward to continuing to be the driving force in the industry, with a focus on service, innovation, quality and sustainability.”
Melbourne-based trailer builder, Krueger Transport Equipment, has been turning out proven trailer solutions for 46 years, specialising in heavy-duty semi-trailers and supporting equipment.
The company upped the ante at this year’s Brisbane Truck Show, wheeling in its new KoolBox fridge trailer, KDolly unit, and the star of its stand: a versatile Kurtainer trailer featuring some unique technology.
“We spent the last four months developing a three-dimensional virtual curtain … in doing so we’ve got about 45 different liveries loaded up that with a push of a button we can open the curtain, close it, and change it to another customer,” said Krueger Transport Equipment Marketing Lead, James Tamanika.
The goal for Krueger, Mr Tamanika explained, was to use the digital screen on the Kurtainer trailer to honour and promote its customers.
“Our biggest goal was to pay homage to the customers who support us,” he said.
Western Australia-based Bruce Rock Engineering is a dominant player in the tipper space, known for building high-productivity trailers that have stood the test of time since the company kicked off in 1980.
The company used this year’s show to premiere its all-new BulkEX grain trailer, as well as show off its iconic scrap and side-tipper units. Fans of the brand were even able to grab merchandise like hats and stubbie coolers.
The new BulkEX model is a more refined, efficient version of Bruck Rock’s tried-and-tested grain tipper, featuring an updated bowl with improved cubic capacity and an even lower tare weight. This exciting new model will be available in an array of configurations, including B-double, A-double and AB-triple, among others.
