H2 Flow Hire offers a range of water-related services, including dust suppression and water delivery using Fuso Fighter and Heavy models, which complement its growing ‘dry hire’ rental truck business.
The company has added several Fuso trucks to its fleet this year and now has 74 Fusos covering Brisbane and the rest of South East Queensland.
H2 Flow Hire partners Scott Beioley, Paul Ryan and Mark Broekman incorporated the rental fleet business into their water services operation three years ago and said they closely examined the models in the existing fleet.
“The Fuso trucks that we were replacing were from 1994 and 1995 and they were still going strong, which is amazing given what the work they do,” says Mr Beioley.
“We had a look around at a couple of other trucks, but we find the Fusos to be very well designed and they work exceptionally well in these applications,” he adds.
Dry hire trucks include units that use vacuum systems to ‘suck up’ material, such as debris when digging holes; a very clean and effective method.
There are also Built Ready Canter tipper models, which are especially popular with landscape gardeners.
H2 Flow Hire also converts Canter models into specialist 2000-litre water trucks, which are hugely popular in the civil construction sector and are engineered for simplicty of use. Importantly, they are also very durable.
H2 Flow Hire also focuses on making the trucks easy to use and hard to damage with additional features such as a handbrake reminders, given some of its customers could be unfamiliar with driving trucks or using the spray equipment.
Making its fleet better able to cater for inexperienced drivers is one of the reasons H2 Flow Hire has started selecting Duonic automated transmissions.
“We were a bit apprehensive about the automated option, but they are very well designed and work exceptionally well,” Mr Beioley says. “Duonics certainly represent the way forward for us.”
He says the fully automated transmissions also take away the potential for manual clutch damage.
H2 Flow Hire has a good relationship with Fuso dealer Daimler Trucks Brisbane and has its trucks regularly maintained, something it views as critical to maintaining a quality fleet.
