Two female truck industry professionals have been recognised on the 2019 Australia Day Honours list

Australia's transport industry once again featured in the Australia Day Honours list, this time with the Director of Whiteline Transport, Sharon Middleton, and the co-owner of NJ and NP Jones, Nancy Phyllis Jones, both awarded a medal of the Order of Australia.

The Australian Trucking Association (ATA) has congratulated Mrs Middleton and Ms Jones for their achievements.

"Both Sharon and Phyllis are well-known within the trucking industry for their passion and dedication, each demonstrating a commitment to improving the industry and ensuring its professionalism," ATA Chair Geoff Crouch said.

In addition to her role as Director of Whiteline Transport, Sharon Middleton (below) is also the President of the South Australian Road Transport Association, an ATA Board Member, and a former director of Transport Women Australia, and she was inducted into the Transport Hall of Fame in 2014.
