TruckWeek 2014 kicks off on Monday, September 1, and will see events that highlight the Australian trucking industry held all over the nation until Sunday, September 7.
At the time of writing a total of 32 such events had been registered, from dealership open days to road freight operator barbecues, politician drive days to awards presentations.
Logistics heavyweight Nolan's Interstate Transport will be having a casual dress day on September 5 to raise awareness of depression and anxiety within the trucking community while Don Watson Transport will be hosting a careers day for high school students on September 1.
Blenners Transport has paid to air the ATA's trucking safety advertisements on its local WIN television station and the Warwick and District Road Safety Group in Queensland will be hosting a truck parade on September 5.
These are just a few examples of a wide variety of events and activities that will be helping to portray the Australian trucking industry in a positive light.
Meanwhile, at the top end of town, ATA Chair Noelene Watson will lead a delegation of prominent trucking industry figures to Parliament House in Canberra on September 3 and 4, where they will meet with senior politicians to discuss issues pertinent to the trucking industry and the broader community.
