Linfox-owned beverage specialist BevChain provides tailored supply chain solutions for the beverage industry across Australia, consolidating products from some of our nation’s favourite brands for country-wide distribution.
BevChain operates from 25 distribution centres in six states, with a fleet of over 200 vehicles plus subcontractors, and that fleet is about to get a boost in the form of 96 UD Quon 8-litre trucks.
Linfox’s own FoxTrax safety technology will be installed in the new trucks. This features a driver pre-trip inspection including fitness for duty, safe load constraint and vehicle condition checklists as well as electronic driver fatigue management.

The official handover of the first of the new UDs was conducted by Joachim Rosenberg, the Chairman and Representative Director of UD Trucks and Member of the Executive Board of Volvo Group. Mr Rosenberg ceremonially handed the keys to Linfox Chairman Peter Fox at the Linfox workshop and Training Centre in Melbourne’s Laverton North on November 26.
Arriving in one of the distinctive bright orange curtain-siders, Mr Rosenberg said that Linfox was an important customer for the Volvo Group and that Australia was UD’s fifth-largest market.
“Australia is a very important market for UD Trucks and for the Volvo Group at large it’s in the top ten,” said Mr Rosenberg.
“Our relationship with Linfox spans many countries throughout Oceania and Asia and we are very proud to celebrate such an important partnership for UD Trucks in Australia.
“We are committed to supporting Linfox’s commitment to safety, sustainability and efficiency, together.”
Peter Fox said that the company chose the UD Quon for its safety and environmentally friendly attributes: “The Linfox fleet is one of the youngest, safest and environmentally-friendly fleets on the road,” he said.
“These new vehicles here are all Euro 6 Quons. Australia hasn’t, at this stage, regulated Euro 6, but at our organisation, all the vehicles we put on the road are Euro 6,” Mr Fox added.
“We have exciting expansion plans for the BevChain business and this investment that we’ve made here today will allow us to grow with our existing customers and ensure we spawn new partnerships.
"Linfox has worked very closely with the UD Truck group to source a fleet that is meeting the specific needs of BevChain customers. BevChain is relying on a range of vehicles to transport products to pubs, bottleshops and to our customers’ distribution centres.
“Linfox is extremely proud of our working relationship with the Volvo Group who are also committed to safety, sustainability and efficiency,” Mr Fox concluded.
