UD Trucks Australia has announced the arrival of its new Vice President, with Phillipa Wood taking the reins, effective immediately.
The appointment fills the void left following the recent departure of out-going VP, Lauren Pulitano, who moved into the role of Vice President Public Affairs, Volvo Group Australia, in August.
Ms Wood steps into the position after previously serving as Volvo Trucks Sales Manager for Volvo Commercial Vehicles Australia. She brings a wealth of knowledge to the post, gleaned over decades in sales, marketing and strategy roles across local and international automotive markets.
The position will also see Ms Wood assume a role within the wider VGA leadership team.
Ms Wood said she was eager to take the UD brand in this country to new heights.
“This is a very exciting time to be joining UD Trucks,” she said. “And I’m very much looking forward to being an integral part of the growth of UD here in Australia.
“For over 50 years, UD has forged an enviable, hard-earned reputation for durability, efficiency, and productivity with Australian trucking customers, and it’s a privilege to be joining the UD team at a time of unprecedented success for the brand.
“The future looks very bright indeed for our customers, our dealer network and, of course, for UD Trucks Australia.”
Wood joined Volvo Group Australia’s Brand, Marketing and Communications team in 2014, before assuming a role in a VGA-owned retail business in 2020. Her experience also includes sales and marketing roles at Ford Motor Company in the UK.
VGA President and CEO, Martin Merrick, said he was thrilled to see Ms Wood head up the UD Trucks Australia team.
“I’m delighted to have Philippa Wood become a part of the VGA leadership team,” he said. “I’ve no doubt her experience in developing teams, driving strategy, and building brands will be invaluable to both UD Trucks and VGA moving forward on our transformation journey.”
