Volvo Group Australia has launched an attention-grabbing service promise for its Volvo and Mack products.
Unveiled at the recent Brisbane Truck Show and dubbed the 'Uptime Promise' (Volvo) and 'Ultimate Uptime' (Mack), VGA is promising to have any Volvo or Mack truck covered by a top-tier service agreement back on the road within eight hours if affected by any unscheduled stop.
If the truck isn't back on the road within that period, VGA will pay the operator $375 for the first day and $500 for any subsequent days the truck remains in the workshop.
While the cash isn't likely to cover the combined cost of a breakdown, it does underline VGA's faith in not only its products, but its dealer network and service expertise too.
"That their uptime is of utmost importance to us is the commitment we make to our customers," said VGA President, Peter Voorhoeve.
"If they experience an unscheduled stop, we promise to have them back on the road within eight hours, from anywhere in Australia, or we will financially compensate them.
"Our customers don't put limits on their business so we don't put limits on their service. We are able to offer this unbeatable guarantee as we are confident in the quality of our products and the strength of our dealer network."
Applicable to Volvo and Mack trucks covered by the Volvo Gold Agreement and Mack Ultimate Agreement respectively, the uptime promise is further complemented by VGA doubling the warranty on its genuine parts from 12 to 24 months.
If a part fails within 24 months of purchase due to a warrantable defect, VGA says it will cover repair costs or replacement of the part, inclusive of labour and consequential damages.
"With so many people relying on our customers, they need to be able to rely on us. This is why we are introducing an eight-hour uptime guarantee and doubling our fitted parts warranty to 24 months," said Mr Voorhoeve.
