Volvo Group Australia has launched an online shop for its used parts arm, VMRTRuck Parts.
While the wholly owned used parts workshop has been around since 1995, its online store only opened recently, and now delivers convenient and speedy sourcing of genuine used and reconditioned truck parts to suit older Volvo, Mack and UD models.

VMR was originally setup to service its own dealer network with recycled parts from used Volvo Trucks, reducing waste and offering an alternative parts option for operators. Now, more than 20 years on, VMR carries over 34,000 parts to suit Mack, UD and Volvo trucks and can offer everything from a door handle to a remanufactured transmission.
VMR sits alongside VGA's brand new parts stream, a complementary offering predominately catering for owners of older model trucks.

"Buyers looking at VMR are typically not shopping for brand new parts – they're not coming through our Dealer network," said Tony O'Connell, Vice President of Aftersales and Service for Volvo Group Australia.
"They may be shopping at wreckers, on Gumtree or eBay and are looking for an alternative option. This is a responsible way of providing that option while at the same time ensuring quality and safety.
"We are really demonstrating that we can service the entire truck life cycle."

The VMR workshop is based in Wacol, close to Volvo Group Australia's head office. Currently with approximately 20 staff, VMR sources parts to suit Group trucks in several ways. All parts are cleaned, inspected, checked and graded before they are dispatched again. Anything that fails to meet the Volvo Group's quality standards is sorted and recycled for minimal environmental impact. Used parts are graded into A Class and B Class, and come with warranties of six months and three months respectively.

All major remanufactured components are tested on test rigs prior to being dispatched, says VGA. The technicians rebuilding components are all factory trained, while parts interpreters are experts in Mack, UD and Volvo Trucks, so customers can be sure of getting the right part for their truck.
