To celebrate the launch of the new Volvo VNL, Volvo Trucks North America took out a Guinness World Record when three-year-old Joel Jovine opened a box containing a full-size truck and trailer.
The truck was packed in a packed away inside a 80’ (24.4m) x 14’ (4.3m) x 18’ (5.5m) box, which was opened with the help of the child.
To take the record, the box had to completely encapsulate the truck and had to be opened manually, without tools. also, the truck had to be removed from the box without destroying the box during the process.
Adjudicator Michael Emperic was on site to verify the record, and make sure that the packaging was also made entirely of standard box materials – cardboard and cellophane.
