Volvo Group Australia launches podcast

The 10-part series, under the banner of ‘Emerging Possibilities’, focuses on the rapidly changing landscape of vehicle technology

For anyone confused or even just curious about emerging vehicle technologies and how they’re set to reshape the commercial vehicle landscape, Volvo Group Australia has just launched a podcast that deals with exactly this topic.

Part 1 of Emerging Possibilities is available to stream now.

Titled Emerging Possiblities, the 10-part series is hosted by a panel of three experts from within the VGA business: Paul Ilmer, Vice President Emerging Technology; Tim Camilleri, E-Mobility Solutions Manager; and Matt Wood, Strategic Projects and Communications Manager.

The series shines a light on the rapidly evolving areas of electromobility, autonomy, sustainability, and alternate fuels, exploring where the science and development of each is at and how it’s likely to impact the commercial vehicle space in coming years.

Paul Ilmer, Volvo Group Australia Vice President Emerging Technology, at the recent Trucking Australia 22 conference.

“We’re at an interesting time in history,” says Mr Ilmer.

“On one hand we have a lot of converging technologies in areas like engine development, safety systems and telematics. Then, on the other hand, we see an accelertion in demand for electromobility and alternatives to the traditional combustion engine.

“That demand for information around these emerging technologies doesn’t always keep up with supply.”

Mr Ilmer says the podcast won’t purely focus on products and developments within Volvo.

“Our aim with this series is to be as brand agnostic as can be while exploring topics that may be of interest to those in the industry curious on what is coming and how best to prepare for it. And we feel the best way to do that is to hear from subject matter experts from around the industry, not just from Volvo Group internally.

“At Volvo Group we often talk about shaping the world we want to live in. So helping to drive the emissions and sustainability conversation here in Australia is a very important part of that mission.

“Ultimately it’s about empowering people and arming them with the right information from the outset.”
