Volvo shows new FE at Waste Expo Australia
This week at Waste Expo Australia, Volvo Trucks is displaying the locally developed FE Dual Control waste truckAt Waste Expo Australia, the country’s premier waste management exhibition and conference, Volvo is showcasing the best in Aussie innovation with its FE Dual Control truck.
The Expo displays new technologies, products and solutions across all areas of waste management, resource recovery and sustainability.
"We are extremely proud to display what we feel is the ultimate residential waste truck at the 2017 Waste Expo Australia," said Mitch Peden, Vice President of Volvo Trucks Australia. "The combination of Volvo's proven global platform, dedicated local engineers and close collaboration with major waste management customers has enabled us to produce a superior residential waste truck for the Australian market."
Volvo says the Euro-VI compliant FE Dual Control achieves excellent vision for the driver through a wider windshield plus extra side mirrors and windows, which is key for safe operation in dense urban environments.
Class-leading safety features like forward collision warning, emergency braking and ESP (Electronic Stability Program) as standard on the 6x4 models make it one of the safest waste trucks on the market, we’re told.
"Driver comfort and providing a quiet, ergonomic working environment is becoming increasingly important for Australia's residential waste operators, which is why our engineers made full scale models of the dual-control dash to ensure every button and switch was in exactly the right position," said Peden.
In addition to exhibiting at Waste Expo Australia, Volvo Trucks Australia will be the presenting partner of the Waste Summit. The Waste Summit is free to attend and will feature key note presentations, case studies, panel sessions and white paper discussions, enabling attendees to learn from their peers and stay informed across new technologies, innovations and advancements as well as discussions on areas such as policy, legislation, and waste management.
The Volvo Trucks Australia exhibition display can be found on Stand F01, and will include a Volvo FE Dual Control along with representatives from Volvo Truck Sales, Aftersales, Product and Engineering. The stand will also include an activation of ‘Stop. Look. Wave’, a road safety initiative targeted at children.
