Volvo Group Australia has announced the appointment of Western Truck Group as its parts and services dealer in the strategic transport hub of Toowoomba.
President and CEO of Volvo Group Australia Peter Voorhoeve welcomed the appointment of Western Truck Group and the strengthened presence it will provide to the Group’s extensive regional network.
“Toowoomba’s strategic location as a transport gateway to the north, south and west means the Western Truck Group team will become another strong link in an Australia-wide chain of industry-leading parts and services dealerships for Volvo Group Australia.”
The appointment follows the Queensland Truck Centre’s sale of the dealership to Craig Black Group, owner of Western Truck Group and a family business that has been synonymous with the automotive industry in regional Queensland for more than 30 years.
Volvo Group Australia Vice-President of Retail Tom Conlon has thanked the team at Queensland Truck Centre for 20 years of business partnership and dedicated service.
“I would like to thank the team at Queensland Truck Centre for their years of great service and dedication, and wish them every success with their future operations,” Mr Conlon said.
Craig Black Group will take over operations in Toowoomba, Mount Isa and Warana on the Sunshine Coast at the locations previously occupied by Queensland Truck Centre.
Managing Director, Craig Black, said the Group is excited to partner with Volvo Group Australia and its industry-leading focus on customer service.
“We will be investing heavily into significant additional parts stock and operational personnel at all locations, and we have some very experienced truck industry staff joining the business,” Mr Black said.
Industry veteran Jamie Little, General Manager of Western Truck Group said: “Regional Queensland is reliant on the transport industry and I look forward to working with the trusted Volvo Group brands of Volvo, Mack and UD Trucks."
Western Truck Group’s flagship Toowoomba dealership will be extended in the coming months to incorporate a state of the art Modification Centre allowing additional capacity for truck build-up and repair work.
