
Volvo Group Australia has announced that four Australian teams of Volvo truck technicians have advanced to the semi-finals of the brand’s international VISTA competition, with the teams set to battle it out at VGA headquarters in Wacol, Brisbane, before the winning national team heads to Gothenburg, Sweden, for the finals.
The global competition is open to all service market professionals from within the brand’s truck and bus divisions.
This year marks the return of the event after COVID-19 saw the 2019/2020 VISTA competition cancelled. Volvo personnel eagerly welcomed the comeback, with no fewer than 84 teams from Australia and 22 from New Zealand signing on to put their skills to the test.

Teams comprise between two and four people, with two stages of theory questions and a pit-stop challenge completed in a team’s dealer workshop determining those who continue to the digital semi-finals. Over 180 teams from around the world will contest the semis, before 44 head to the world final in Gothenburg in September.
For this year’s competition, two teams from VCV Sydney Prestons, one from CMV Derrimut, and one from VCV Brisbane North made the cut, along with teams from Truck Stop Lower Hutt and Whangarei from New Zealand.
The event seeks to help Volvo service staff hone their skills and knowledge, while enhancing their ability to collaborate and cooperate within a team environment.
