WA trailer firm chooses SAF-Holland's INTRA series

All Road Transport reaps the rewards of SAF-Holland's INTRA axles and suspension for its new, lightweight aluminium grain trailer

Western Australian trailer manufacturer All Road Transport says it's now employing SAF-Holland's INTRA series of axles and suspension in its new Grain Boss, an aluminium bulk grain trailer said to offer major productivity gains.

A second-generation family business, Albany-based All Road Transport has been building transport equipment for over 30 years, and is renowned for its side tippers, grain trailers, and woodchip trailers.

When it embarked on its latest product, a lightweight aluminium grain trailer, it selected SAF-Holland's INTRA line of axles and suspension to maximise the weight savings gained through using aluminium over traditional steel.

SAF Intradisc offered what was considered to be the lightest disc brake option on the market yet it carries a six year / one million kilometre warranty on major components.

"The simple modular design, with its ease and flexibility to suit different installations, offered us the weight savings and low maintenance we were looking for," said Mitchell Spaanderman, All Road Business Development Manager.

"The German design with disc brakes are increasingly in demand and the special opening that protects the brake chambers in the harsh WA environment is proving to be a valuable feature," he added.

The new All Road Grain Boss aluminium grain trailer is 10 metres long. It has a 53-cubic-metre bowl and a 10.5-metre tri-axle dog trailer with electric tarp and EBS smart board.

"As a heavy trailer manufacturer, the quality of the equipment is critically important and the SAF-Holland technical support and spare parts availability is exceptional," said Spaanderman.

"SAF INTRA axles feature a unique weight-optimised design and offer a lightweight efficient solution with uncompromising strength. Combined with the aluminium construction, the result is the overall weight of the grain trailer has reduced from approximately 8 tonne to 6.75 tonne, providing increased payload for the contractor."
