
Scrolling through the pages of used trucks here on Trucksales.com.au, we found hundreds of medium trucks in the $90,000-$100,000 price bracket. To illustrate the variety that’s available we picked out some examples.

A 2012 Hino 500 Series 1124 FD cherry picker looked like a lot of truck for this money. It had 240hp and a six-speed manual box and only 236,000 kilometres on the odometer. Standard kit included air conditioning and a reverse camera.
Leaf-spring suspension front and rear and a 4250mm wheelbase gave a GVM of 11,000kg and GCM 20,000kg.
The EWP was a Terex Hi-Ranger LT-40 articulating-telescopic model and equipment included a rear arrow board, battery isolator, two amber beacons, four work lights, ladder rack, 240V inverter and several toolboxes.
The Elevating Work Platform (EWP) Certification was current for a further 12 months.

This 2010 Iveco Eurocargo ML160E28P tilt-tray was powered by Iveco’s 280hp engine, driving through a nine-speed, synchromesh transmission. Reportedly, its main task had been transporting caravans interstate and had clocked up only 389,000 kilometres.
It had just had a major service and overhaul including a new radiator and fuel lines. The truck had a closed-door re-spray in January 2021.
The tray had been fitted with four new container locks and measured 8.5m x 2.5m. The hydraulic 15000lb winch had new cable. With air rear suspension, GVM was 16,000kg and GCM 32,000kg.
An AJs bull bar was fitted with Narva 180 Ultima LED driving lights. New LED rotating beacons were fitted to the roof and there were also LED work lights.

Gibsons Groundspread is one of the leading fertiliser-spreading companies in Australia, operating a large fleet of off-road spreaders and road trucks.
The company manages its own fleet maintenance and regularly sells off second hand equipment. All its equipment has full maintenance history and costings.
This used 4x4 MAN 18-340 spreader had clocked up 100,000 kilometres and was for sale, described as ‘paddock ready. It came complete with stainless steel Comspread bins, 30m+ spread width, Topcon GPS and Auto-Steer.
Specific road-tyre or off-road-tyre combinations could be fitted to suit the buyer’s application, the company said.

Why compromise with a tray-back 4x4 ute when you could have this 2015 Isuzu NPS 300 4x4 ex-government tipper? It came with a 5.2-litre, 155hp, turbo-diesel, driving through a five-speed manual main box and two-speed transfer case, to a part-time 4WD drivetrain.
It had air conditioning, an alloy bull bar, light bar, reverse camera and a Uniden UHF radio.
GVM was 6500kg and the truck had done only 114,000 kilometres.
The tipper measured 3.37m x 2.32m and had in-set tie down lugs and a retractable load cover tarpaulin. Equipment included 12V / 24V jump-start sockets, hand-wash tank, battery isolator, large toolbox, roof bar with two amber beacons and two work lights, plus a work light mounted on the headboard.
Also fitted was a 3500kg-rated towbar with 50mm ball hitch, electric trailer brake module and 12V and 24V trailer sockets.

Lazy-axle distribution trucks used to have a bad name, but modern ones have no on-road compromises. This 23-tonnes-GVM, 2014 DAF LF55 had become surplus to its owner’s changed needs and was offered for sale, with 827,000 kilometres its odometer.
The Pantech truck measured 8750mm long, 2450mm wide and had 2560mm internal height. It came with a two-tonnes-capacity tailgate loader, with remote control.
An automatic transmission was standard, as were air-discs all around.

This Mitsubishi Fuso Fighter tilt-tray truck was a one-owner, 280,000-kilometre, 2014 model that was still working, but its owner was planning retirement.
As such, the seller was happy to provide assistance with maintaining work flow and accessing finance.
He said the truck had always been serviced on time. Maintenance has included new brakes and clutch.
The spec’ included ABS brakes, cruise control, aircon and power windows. It had a
4270mm wheelbase and was rated at 10,400kg GVM and 16,000kg GCM.

That’s a precise asking price and it was explained by the fact that this truck was a new Isuzu NNR 6.5-tonnes-GVM ‘reefer’ with Carrier Fridge unit. The van body measured 4200mm x 2300mm x 2050mm and featured a fibreglass floor, rear barn doors, load locking racks and and bars. The chiller was a Carrier Citimax 500 model.
It was powered by Isuzu’s proved 4JJ1-TCS three-litre, four-cylinder turbo-diesel, rated at 148hp and 375Nm. It had Isuzu’s latest-generation, six-speed, Automated Manual Transmission (AMT) with both fully automatic and clutchless-manual operating modes.
The specification included disc brakes all around with ABS, ASR traction control, IESC stability control and Hill Assist.
Being new, it came with a three-year, 100,000km or 2000-hour warranty and 24-hour roadside assistance.

A 2016 Hino FD 500 tipper looked like a lot of truck for this money. It was powered by a 240hp turbo diesel engine that drove through a six-speed automatic transmission. The specification included cruise control, hill-start assist, ABS brakes with ASR traction control, a driver’s SRS airbag and a Bluetooth touchscreen infotainment system.
Its steel factory-fitted tipping body measured 3760mm x 2140mm internally and was raised by twin underbody hoists. It had an air-operated, two-way tailgate, an electric rollback tarpaulin cover, under-body toolbox and side access ladders.

This 2012 Isuzu FRR 600 Premium Crew Cab was setup as the base vehicle for a wood chipping crew. Behind its seven-seat cab were five tool boxes and a wood chipping tipping body, with internal measurements of 2950mm x 2150mm x 2020mm.
It was powered by a 235hp turbo diesel six, driving through a six-speed automated manual transmission. The specification included hill-start assist, cruise control, ABS brakes, dual SRS front-seat airbags and Bluetooth touchscreen infotainment system.
The truck was fitted with amber beacons, a five-tonnes-capacity pintle hook and air connections for trailer brakes.

A 2013 Isuzu FVM1400 6x2, eight-metre tray truck, with piggy-back forklift mounting kit and only 382,000 kilometres on it looked good value for money. A catch was no rego, but a full service history and a roadworthy certificate.
The 2013 FVM has a Sitec 275hp/1030Nm nine-litre six, driving through an Eaton nine-speed synchro box with crawl bottom cog, to an Isuzu single-drive tandem, rated at 16.500kg. The truck’s GVM is 22,500kg, on a 6470mm wheelbase.
The FVM1400 has S-cam air brakes, a suspension driver’s seat and air conditioning.
