Ford's F-150 feast

Ford has served up a veritable feast for lovers of its iconic F-150 truck with a website that pays homage to the model from its birth as the F-1 in 1948, to the F-100 in 1953 and right through to the aluminium-alloy-bodied F-150 of 2015.

Every major update of the model is there, with each generation accompanied by some original advertising material and some historic photos of the truck in question.

You can even submit a pic of your own F-150, with the best shots then being posted on the site.

While Australia has largely foregone Ford's F-Series in favour of the passenger-car-based Aussie ute, it cannot be denied that the F-Series and especially the F-150 is one of the world's truly iconic vehicle dynasties.
