Australian auto dealership heavyweight Eagers Automotive has joined forces with Foton EV, with the battery-electric Foton T5 truck now available through an additional three new sales and service outlets nationwide.
Foton EV Brisbane, Foton EV Perth and Foton EV Sydney will all offer complete customer support, helping buyers transition their fleets to a zero-tailpipe-emission alternative.
Eagers Automotive Limited Executive General Manager, Paul Warburton, said the firm was thrilled to welcome the Foton EV brand.
“Eagers Automotive is incredibly proud to join the growing Foton EV dealership network,” he said.
“We look forward to supporting Foton in the Australian market as they look to follow in the footsteps of their success around the world.”
Foton EV trucks are handled here in Australia by Foton Mobility Distribution, a wholly Australian-owned distributor of Foton Global zero-emission products. According to FMD’s General Manager of Light Duty Vehicles, Bill Gillespie, the firm has found a great partner in Eagers Automotive.
“It’s with great pride that we welcome the Eagers Automotive team to the Foton family,” he said.
“Around the world, Foton’s new energy products continue to lead the sales race, with our entry to the Australian market last year seeing the products widely embraced by a cross-section of leading fleets nationwide.
“From leaders in last mile home deliveries to council fleets, removalists and beyond, the T5 EV continues to gain traction in the marketplace.
“With Eagers Automotive representing us in Brisbane, Perth and Sydney, we are now able to better service our customer base, who can access the vehicles through familiar staff at trusted dealerships.”
The all-electric Foton T5 EV is available in a car-licence friendly GVM of 4500kg or 6000kg for those with a light rigid truck licence looking to utilise additional payload. The truck also comes with a hefty 3500kg braked towing capacity.
Foton says the T5 boasts a fully loaded range of up to 180km, while also encompassing a suite of modern safety technology spanning a Low Speed Pedestrian Warning System, electronic stability control, dual SRS airbags, and a reversing radar and buzzer.
The truck is available in a range of turnkey formats, including with an Australian-made steel tipper body or an alloy tray, among others, while it comes backed by an eight-year/300,000km battery warranty and a five-year/200,000km overall vehicle warranty, along with NTI Truck Assist roadside assistance.
