Australia's truck and motoring media will get their first taste of Isuzu's revamped N Series range today (August 24), with the nation's top-selling truck brand hosting a media launch in Victoria for the new light-duty line-up.
First unveiled at the Brisbane Truck Show in May, the new N Series range features fresh styling, more powerful NPR models, greater comfort and the appearance of Isuzu Electronic Stability Control, among a range of other updates and refinements.
The new-look range also comes with a new naming convention, with the model nomenclature now a reflection of each truck's GVM and metric horsepower rating. For example, the entry-level NLR 200 Short now becomes the NLR 45-150 SWB.
IAL Chief Engineer Simon Humphries describes the new N Series line-up as a "significant evolution".
"It has more features, more comfort and convenience, more intelligence on-board and more choices – especially in the booming car licence segment – while it also sports a fresh new look," he said.
The NPR 46, 65 and 75 also now benefit from the high-output engine found the top-of-the-range NQR model, placing 140kW at a driver's disposal. This represents a boost in power and torque of around 22 per cent, says Isuzu.
"We think we really have upped the ante with several of our models and we have the specification advantage," said Mr Humphries.
The range is on sale now.
