Isuzu dealership Goldfields Truck Power, in Kalgoorlie (WA), has been acquired by the Major Motors dealer group, bringing the latter’s network in the west to five outlets.
It’s a new phase of life for the well established and well-regarded Kalgoorlie business, which has been servicing the truck transport sector in the mining centre since 1973. Many staff at the outlet have worked there for over 20 years.

Now, with Major Motors taking the reins from last month (March), Isuzu says the outlet’s customer base can expect to see plenty of familiar faces at the dealership and long-serving GTP employees continue in their roles.
“Goldfields Truck Power has worked diligently to support local trucking and transport for decades, notably supporting automotive apprentices entering the industry,” said Isuzu Australia Limited (IAL) National Dealer Operations Manager, Kevin Brown.
“The kind of team longevity apparent here is hard to come by and really symbolises the strength of the relationships the business has built with customers in Kalgoorlie and surrounding areas.”

Mr Brown also congratulated Major Motors on their newest dealership.
“We’re delighted to have such a reliable company in Major Motors looking out for the best interests of Isuzu Trucks customers in WA,” he said.
“GTP has always treated their customers like family, and we have no doubt that this changeover will support and grow the kind of valued face-to-face service that local customers have come to expect.”

Isuzu’s relationship with Major Motors goes back over half a century. Originally situated along the western coast, the group has increased its footprint steadily in WA, providing expanding coverage through a well-heeled dealership, servicing and parts network.
“When the opportunity came to purchase Goldfields Truck Power, we saw this as an important step to strengthen and improve our customer service levels across the state of Western Australia,” said Daniel Pearce, Major Motors General Manager.
“Kalgoorlie is a town rich in history, with a large Isuzu truck parc and customer base which requires back up and service, which we will continue to provide.
“We appreciate the work [Dealer Principal] Shane [Bradshaw] and the team have done over the years and whilst we do not see wholesale changes occurring, we will look to assist and improve operations through further training and investment to provide the best possible service and working environment for staff.”
The Kalgoorlie outlet now joins other Major Motors outlets at Forrestfield, Bibra Lake, Malaga, and Port Hedland.
