IVECO Trucks Australia has released the first photos and information of its latest-generation IVECO Daily 4x4 cab chassis, with the new model said to offer all the off-road capability of its predecessor but with a new level of refinement.
Due for an official Australian launch in the second quarter of 2023, the new IVECO Daily 4x4 will feature independent front suspension for an improved ride and the option of IVECO’s eight-speed fully automatic transmission, in addition to the vehicle’s standard six-speed manual.
IVECO says a raft of tweaks have also been made to the Daily 4x4’s interior, further improving ergonomics and connectivity.

The 2023 IVECO Daily 4x4 will be available in either single-cab or dual-cab formats and in a choice of three different wheelbases, with a hefty gross vehicle mass (GVM) of 7000kg. A three-leaf parabolic spring rear suspension arrangement continues, underlining the model’s solid workhorse and payload credentials.
Power carries over in the form of a Euro 6 compliant 3.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-diesel, producing claimed maximum outputs of 132kW (180hp) and 430Nm.
Underpinning its off-road prowess are front, centre and rear differential locks, generous ground clearance, and a transfer case with PTO option to power a range of ancillary gear, from tipping bodies to pumps to drills. An expansion module with CAN open interface allows further customisation of bodies and accessories, the manufacturer says.
Safety is well addressed courtesy of IVECO’s ‘ESP9’ suite of features, including electronic stability control, traction control, hill holder and more, while the vehicle also comes fitted with driver and passenger airbags and a comprehensive braking package comprising four-wheel ventilated disc brakes, backed by ABS and electronic brake force distribution.
First introduced to the Australian market in 2012, the IVECO Daily 4x4 has carved a solid niche for itself as a conversion platform for expedition motorhomes, and among extreme-duty applications spanning mining, forestry, emergency services and more.
But while its hardcore architecture and extremely capable off-road driveline have won a legion of fans, the platform hasn’t been renowned for its creature comforts in a cab that has largely favoured rugged utility over all else.
Like the model’s last couple of updates, this latest generation appears to be addressing this aspect without foregoing any of the model’s hardy off-road nature – but we’ll reserve judgement until we get our hands on the new model ourselves next year.
Trucksales will bring you more information on the new 2023 IVECO Daily 4x4 as it comes to hand.
