Renault grows LCV sales

Nearly 25 per cent growth year-on-year
Renault LCV says it has posted a year of significant sales growth, with a total of 4632 vans and light trucks delivered to Australian customers in 2016.
"The growth in Renault LCV deliveries reflects the continuing positive response to the product and financial appeal of the Kangoo, Trafic and Master variants, including the all-new 12-seater Master Bus," said Lyndon Healey, Senior Model Line Manager for Renault LCV.

The 2016 sales result is a rise of 874 vehicles, or 23.25 per cent year-on-year and more than double the rate of growth experienced in 2015.
"In 2016, the Trafic model range grew at a significant level and actually exceeded deliveries of the old model from its last full year in 2014 (1643 vans), when it was sold in both manual and auto guises," Healey said.

"Our dealers have continued to experience high levels of interest and demand for Trafic from an ever-expanding array of customers drawn by its eye-catching good looks, impressive technical specifications and feature-rich standard specification, not to mention the Renault LCV reassurance package that drives down the cost of ownership for every customer.
"We’re also broadening the Trafic’s appeal by adding a new Trafic Crew version with seating for up to six including the driver, from the start of the year. This combines Trafic’s load lugging ability with the opportunity to deliver a work crew to site, or for owner-drivers to transport the entire family out of working hours. And for more lifestyle-oriented customers, an even more attractive Trafic Sport model appears at the end of Q2."

While Trafic notched up 1730 deliveries, Master was close behind with 1598, thanks to its broad selection of variants from the city-friendly L1H1 short-wheelbase eight-cubic-metre final-mile delivery van to the cavernous 17-cubic-metre L4H3 rear-drive version, which lends itself to a selection of duties from regional distribution to refrigeration.
"We were also very pleased to see a swift take-up of interest in and deliveries of the new 12-seater Master Bus, one of the most affordable people-moving solutions for schools, social clubs, aged care facilities and all types of health authorities," Healey said.
"The Master Bus is very well equipped, exceedingly spacious and provides a wealth of features for all bus buyers at a very attractive price. And with our expanding dealer network, we are within close proximity to a much larger group of potential customers than ever before."

The Kangoo compact van continues to win friends across small and medium enterprises, as well as within the fleet and government market. A new petrol engine is being launched for 2017 that will provide a further performance boost, reducing fuel consumption and emissions and rewarding drivers with a smoother more responsive driving experience.
"Without doubt the new petrol-powered Kangoo six-speed manual and Efficient Dual Clutch automated transmission will attract even more customers to Renault," Lyndon Healey said. "The new turbocharged petrol engine is state-of-the-art and will particularly appeal to owner-drivers who use the vehicle for business themselves.
"With the on-going appeal of the Renault range, our sales momentum and the new models we are introducing to the market, I have no doubt we will continue to attract many new customers to our brand throughout 2017," he concluded.
