French manufacturer Renault has celebrated a major milestone within its light commercial division, with its production facility in Batilly, in eastern France, recently producing its 2.5 millionth LCV.
The front-drive Renault Master L3H2 concerned is destined for Polish company TP Teltech, but not before it took pride of place at a special handover ceremony at the Batilly facility, located near the city of Metz.
One of three Renault LCV factories in France, the Batilly plant specialises in van production for Renault, Renault Trucks, Nissan and General Motors. It produces the Master for Renault and Renault Trucks, the NV400 for Nissan and the Movano for Opel/Vauxhall.
Around three-quarters of its output is destined for other European countries, with Germany, the UK and Poland the biggest recipients, and business is brisk – production has increased by 43 per cent over the past 36 months, with 132,825 vehicles produced at the factory last year alone.
