Renault sales hot in May

Solid percentage gains for the French LCV manufacturer
Renault’s Light Commercial Vehicle sales continue on an upward trajectory, with sales year-to-date up 50 per cent according to figures issued by the Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries’ VFACTS.
"Renault is continuing to attract new customers to our light commercial range thanks to an unbeatable combination of perfectly specified product for the Australian market, teamed with an industry-leading reassurance programme that includes affordable Capped Price Servicing, three-year or five-year/200,000km factory warranty and Roadside Assistance," said Justin Hocevar, Managing Director of Renault Australia.
"Our continued growth is directly related to the growth of our dealer network, which is now in excess of 50 outlets. Throughput per dealer is above the industry average, and increasing sales points mean more Australians have a Renault LCV dealer conveniently located close by them."
Deliveries of 1876 Renault LCVs year-to-date are up from 1253 in the same period last year. Renault says it expects deliveries to continue to accelerate, as Renault LCV is offering attractive driveaway deals on each of the model ranges between now and the end of the financial year. Kangoo is offered from $21,990, Trafic from $32,990 and Master from $42,490.
In May 2016, Kangoo finished second in class for sales, and year-to-date sales total 408 vans (and 29.5 per cent market share), up 8.2 per cent in a segment down 15 per cent compared with the first five months of 2015.
Trafic sales of 146 vans in May took 7.9 per cent market share, up 23.7 per cent on May 2015. Trafic is up 119.5 per cent year-to-date compared with the same period in 2015.
"Our leadership of the LCV market in Europe for the past 18 years underlines the suitability of our vans for the many and varied jobs to which they are put, and our after sales programmes have business operators in mind," Mr. Hocevar said.
"Importantly, Renault is continuing to roll out our commerce-oriented Renault PRO+ dealer concept across Australia, bringing expert staff, a full range of demonstrator vehicles as well as access to approved converters to our customers, and delivering a true one-stop-shop experience. This saves time, reduces complexity and makes the purchase process far more efficient for businesses large and small.
"The scale of our sales growth underlines the appeal of our offer to the business vehicle market and we will continue to develop new and imaginative services aimed at this sector over coming months," Mr. Hocevar said.
