A compliance label wrongly stating the gross vehicle mass has forced Volkswagen to recall 79 of its model year 2018 Crafter vans.
The recall notice advises that "incorrect labelling of the vehicle load capacity could lead to a consumer carrying a load in excess of the vehicle's capacity, resulting in an increased accident risk to vehicle occupants and other road users".

Volkswagen Group Australia is contacting all known owners of affected vehicles and encourages consumers to contact their nearest VW dealer to arrange for inspection and repair.
VW has also set up a hotline owners can call for more details on 1800 504 076 or by emailing recalls@myvw.com.au
