Scania wins UK award
The marque's R-series has been named the UK transport industry's Fleet Truck of the YearThe Scania R-series has been announced as Fleet Truck of the Year at the 2015 Motor Transport Awards, held in London last month.
This is the third time the R-series has won the award, with previous victories coming in 2005 and 2010.
"We are honoured to once again be recognised at the Motor Transport Awards," said Claes Jacobsson, Scania UK Managing Director.
"My conversations with operators regularly confirm the R-series to be a highly productive workhorse which is the backbone of many fleets."
The judging panel, which was made up of 60 industry professionals, singled out the R-series, as "a truck that commands huge respect and loyalty" for its fuel efficiency, cost of ownership, and excellent dealer support network.
"The R-series has been around seemingly forever, which is why the judges praised its bullet-proof reliability, as well as recognising Scania's fantastic after-sales service," said Steve Hobson, Motor Transport Editor.
In their citation, the judges also commented upon Scania's reputation for quality interiors, excellent residual values and immense driver appeal.
