Show of force from PACCAR in Brisbane

The looming Brisbane Truck Show will see PACCAR showcase no fewer than 11 DAF and Kenworth models
Attendees at this year's Brisbane Truck Show will find a selection of 11 DAF and Kenworth trucks on the 'PACCAR World' stand. The stand is designed to provide patrons with an all-access experience to PACCAR Australia's range of brands.
PACCAR Australia's Director Sales and Marketing, Brad May, says the Brisbane Truck show offers those in transportation the ideal forum to congregate and experience the best developments and innovation the industry has to offer.
"PACCAR World will have on display a range of advances, including from DAF the official launch of the DAF CF85 with 510Hp and the display of the new FAP LF 280, touted for release later in 2017.
"For Kenworth, the show is all about the revolutionary T610 and T610SAR. Launched little more than five months ago, the new model is certainly living up to its billing as, 'Our Best Truck Yet'. We are delighted with the market's response due to its versatility, space and safety features, and the T610 and two T610SARs on display are certain to draw in everyone to have a look.
"Complementing our two truck brands will be the full range of PACCAR Australia products and services. We will have professionals from most areas of our business, including production, engineering and sales, as well as dealer representatives from across Australia on hand to explain how PACCAR Australia offers the complete solution for fleets, operators and drivers."
DAF
DAF's world-class model line-up will be headlined by the CF85, now offering 510hp. Powered by the PACCAR MX-13 engine, the CF85 is now even more versatile. With its spacious cab, powerful, efficient and clean engine in both 460hp and 510hp setting, high payloads and a wide range of chassis and axle configurations, PACCAR says the DAF CF Series is versatile, offering significant benefits for operators and drivers alike.
"DAF has a well-earned reputation for building quality trucks that deliver excellent efficiency, reliability and durability as well as a high degree of comfort, safety and drivability, and versatility can be added, with the CF85 now offering 510Hp," said May.
"With two CF85s on display, one in prime mover and the other in rigid configuration, patrons can see first-hand the breadth of the DAF range."
Also on display for the first time is the DAF FAP LF 280 providing purchasers with a lift-up axle perfect for handling heavier loads, and providing fuel and tyre wear benefits when running with lesser loads. Other models include the XF105, which is sure to capture interest of any long-haul specialists.
Kenworth
Australian heavy-duty market leader Kenworth will display a range of its leading models including the all new T610 and T610SAR.
Kenworth says the T610 is its most innovative, durable and productive truck yet, designed and manufactured in Australia for local conditions and applications. The result of more than 100,000 Australian design hours and more than ten million kilometres of testing and validation, the T610 is the single largest investment in product development PACCAR Australia has ever made.
"The core of the project was about building a bigger cab but it was really about creating the ultimate driver environment and that's what we did," said May.
"The response to the T610 has been overwhelming and we are proud of the excitement it’s garnered in the market. Since launching the product officially in December last year, and through a series of events around the country, more than 4000 people have experienced the T610, but the Brisbane Truck Show will give even more people the opportunity to get up close."
Powered by Cummins' X15 Euro 5 engine, the truck also benefits from a suite of electronic features that interact with Eaton automated manual transmissions, dynamically adapting to conditions for fuel efficient operation with no impact on productivity.
The T610 is available with state of the art collision avoidance and mitigation technology, including active cruise with braking and lane departure warning working in harmony to take safety to the next level. It builds on existing critical safety design elements and overall ergonomics designed for comfort and control – everything on this truck has been developed to have a positive impact on drivers’ lives.
Also on display will be the Kenworth T409 equipped with PACCAR’s MX-13 engine, the K200 cabover and T359, among others.
