In the market for a light-duty tipper? The Fuso Canter 815 Wide Cab has just received an upgrade, with a new two-way tailgate heading up a number of changes.
Unlike the previous fixed top-hinge tailgate, the new factory two-way tailgate can be folded via its side hinge to the leave the rear of the tipper tray completely clear, giving added flexibility for loading or unloading. The tipper tray also features convenient fold-down sides, as found on the smaller Fuso Canter 615 City Cab tipper.

Meanwhile, the Fuso Canter 815 tipper also now benefits from more load area space, growing in capacity from 2.4 to 2.6 cubic metres, along with a new hydraulic body lock plus grab handles, steps, and rope rails.
Fuso says both the Canter 615 City Cab and Canter 815 Wide Cab tippers have the best payload in their respective classes. The Canter 615 City Cab tipper has a GVM of 6000kg while the Canter 815 Wide Cab tipper ups that to 7500kg, but both can be de-rated to 4500kg so they can be driven on a standard car licence.
Other standard features on both models include a limited-slip differential and grippy lug tyres to handle slippery and uneven work sites, plus cutting-edge safety systems including autonomous emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, and a hill holder.
According to Fuso Truck and Bus Australia Director, Alex Müller, the upgrades lend even more appeal to the Fuso Canter 815 tipper.
“We are happy to respond to Australian demand for a two-way tailgate for the Canter 815 and believe this addition will make it easier for our customers to get the job done,” he says.
“Our Canter tipper models already have the best-in-class payload and turning circle and advanced active safety systems, but these upgrades make the 815 an even more attractive proposition.”
Both models have long 30,000km service intervals and come backed by a five-year/200,000km factory warranty.
